“Seeing red”
Thursday
After a chilly start, it was a beautiful day for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team Opening Day Parade. We had gone last year for the first time, and that was the first one since Covid. We had really enjoyed it so decided to go again this year. The parade started at 12 noon from Findlay market, and we saw the first ones pass us at about 12.15, and the final one went past at about 2.30! Some of the participants had come a fair distance, including a police motor cycle team from Indianapolis, and High School bands from a very wide area. Various participants were using horses, all beautifully groomed and decked with their gleaming livery. We weren’t going to the game, but that started at 4.15, and unfortunately the Reds lost, but only by one point, 5-4. We stopped for lunch on our way home, at a Turkish restaurant in Kenwood Roger had recently read about. Unfortunately they had just finished serving their lunch menu, since by this time it was 3.15, so we had the appetizer sampler for 2, and then some baklava, which we both decided was some of the best we’ve had. We will be going back! In the evening as usual it was choir practice - we weren’t needed for handbells this evening, as the next time they’re playing is with the choir and brass for Easter Sunday, and we are needed more in the choir!
