Ile de Re.

It was pouring with rain as we drove into La Rochelle so we kept going to the Ile de Re. Some form of protest was happening at the toll gate on the bridge so they were stopping them collecting tolls. Free trip over for us. We had a beautiful walk in increasingly nice weather along the beach. Decided to stay for a day or two. Found a campsite, parked and noticed that we're on top of the old city fortifications. The pic is from our site.
