Dartford Warbler

We'd decided that whatever the weather, we would go to Dunwich Heath. Fortunately, the checkout girl in the Co-op turned out to be not such a good weather forecaster as the plumber, and it was not too bad. I had a wish list, which was a bit ambitious, but top of it was this little beauty. I think I was very lucky to catch him, as it was the briefest of appearances. I think he qualifies for the Blip Big Year list too. Of the other things on our wish list, the only a hit was a green woodpecker, which was at some distance, and we also got good sightings of a herd of red deer, and a briefest view of a pair of stonechat.
