Quiet

Went to the African American History museum with a friend who hadn’t seen it yet. We both forgot that it is spring break in some parts of the US: the place was overrun by very large groups of students, most of which seemed to have zero interest in the offerings of the museum and just occupied dead space.

This room is a little out of the way and is my favorite: it’s meant as a quiet place for reflection, after you’ve been exposed to 3 floors of exhibits documenting slavery, racism, segregation and others ills inflicted on African Americans. But just as soon as we sat down, a boisterous group of teens came in and started running around the place. Sigh. We called it a day.
