Opening up the Lichfield Canal

A huge amount of work has gone on recently to open up the Lichfield and Hatherton Canal.

It’s involved tunnelling, getting involved with local transport links and getting grants. On the M6 Toll road there’s an aqueduct that’s not connected, part of the forward thinking when the road was built.

(I gather HS2 have also contributed ! )

When it’s all complete it should open up the tourist trade to narrow boat holidaymakers. And offer new interesting walks in the neighbourhood.
