Sunshine on The Mound
To Edinburgh today to see the annual exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) before it opens on Saturday.
I'm reviewing it for this Saturday's Herald and it has a great title, 'Between the Late and the Early'.
Still to write it up tonight so my brain is still processing it all. Watch this space, or at least watch the space inhabited by that fine organ The Herald newspaper this weekend.
On the way in to the RSA building, I came across this scene from a parallel universe.
It turned out to be a mass rehearsal for Sunshine on Leith, the film version of the musical based on The Proclaimers music.
Imagine if you can, hundreds of people of all ages, shapes and sizes dancing to the Proclaimers' 500 Miles under the direction of a hyper choreography team on two raised platforms at either end of the park and you've got the picture.
Even the polis were in there.
I could still hear the music blasting out an hour and a half later when I walked up the steps to the Bank of Scotland HQ for a look-see at the Jolomo Awards exhibition.*
A joyful sight and sound.
* Jolomo Awards exhibition open to public for two days only this weekend.
