Thank you gift

It had rained overnight, and continued to rain much of the day, so we went swimming at the sports centre in the afternoon for our daily exercise. In the evening we were out for dinner at some friends we hadn’t seen in years. They came over to the States soon after we did, and A and Roger both worked for GE aero engines. We saw quite a bit of them for the first 6:or 7 years until we moved to France the first time, then when we returned we settled in a different area on the other side of the city, because we felt the school district was better. We both had three children in school by that time, along with all their related activities, and we just drifted apart, just keeping in touch through the men at work, and Christmas cards. Then we saw them at the playhouse about a month ago and got talking, and said we must get together again. That was just before we went to Maui, so when we got back, we did get back to them, and they invited us over to dinner tonight. I took along this bouquet of flowers as a thank you gift. K had prepared a delicious dinner, and we had a wonderful time catching up. We parted with the promise we would meet up again soon!
