Turning right

onto the coastal path heading NW along the Menai Straights, my favourite walk here so far, and as usual John had us take a right off the path leading through the woods onto a massive undulating field with sheep and lambs scattered across it. Beautiful. A most enjoyable walk in sunshine. It is always a pleasure to greet people as we wander along and everyone we have met this week has responded.

This wall was built between the water and track, a splendid looking affair with bits of slate along the top. Visiting the slate museum is on the list for this week. Another pleasure is looking at the trees and plants as we walk, this patch of wood anemone showed how far south we are and something to look forward to in the garden on our return. We came across a few Scot’s pine, we think, and possibly Corsican or similar pines.

Extras show an opening in the wall from a stream out into the Straights, or, as the walkway demonstrated seawater coming in and depositing seaweed. Not photographed.

The cats continue to entertain us although as I write suspect they are having a nap.
