Looking upstream
It was a lovely sunny morning and an ideal morning to go for a walk first thing. So my husband and I decided to walk along the new road to White Bridge where this view of the River Otter was taken and then walk upstream before cutting inland towards the coast. We spotted a tree creeper moving around a large tree and heard various bird song as we headed towards the coastline. We bumped into a friend at this point who said he was very cold, he didn't have a jacket on and was coming in the opposite direction. He was on the lookout for skylarks but hadn't spotted any yet. It's always windier by the coast and we certainly felt it as we walked back the way he had come. We did however spot two skylarks in different locations, I think the wind had eased a bit by then and they were about.
After lunch I managed a little weeding on the allotment. Its almost always grass that has taken over.
