I love my garden
Karen was looking at my garden this morning and saying that it was beautiful even in the rain. Yep.
Akane and Fjellheim are leafing out. I have one little Ukigumo tree that has one leaf bud left - I don't think one leaf will keep the tree alive. My cool muppet-looking Mikawa tree probably has enough leaf buds to live. Harumph. The birds are much cuter when they are running off with slugs.
I'm hoping it only rains tomorrow morning and I can see the cherry blossoms in the afternoon.
We had some excitement. The glass door for my shower shattered. I have no idea why.
Also interesting, this morning a man had a collision in my town and then took of his clothes and tried to get into several vehicles. He jumped on a truck and tried to get into the moving vehicle. It has been called "excited delirium."
I don't think it is related to my shattered shower door.
You remember the Russian TV journalist/announcer who put a sign on live television and told Russia it was being lied to? One of the fascinating things about it is that she'd been a good little propaganda peddler for 20 years. She studied journalism and most of the jobs were for the state, lying to the Russian public. Ukraine just pushed it too far. She was born in Odesa, Ukraine, to a Russian mother and a Ukrainian father. She grew up in Chechnya, which Russia violently invaded, making her a refugee.
he World Bank said the price of rebuilding has grown to $411 billion. The EU has already stated that the $330 billion in Russian bank assets that the West has frozen should be used to rebuild Ukraine. There is no model or precedent for this. Some are worried that it would make people less likely to put their money in the US. There is some concern that countries might seize our assets. BUT people are angry at everything Russia has done, and hey, someone has to pay.
The first four of the 13 fighter jets Slovakia is giving to Ukraine were flown, by Ukrainian pilots, to their new home yesterday.
