Silurian

While in Tobermory this morning, I saw that Silurian was tied up at the pontoons, giving me an ideal opportunity to photograph her. She is the sailing yacht of the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust whose aims are to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises throughout west coast Scotland through research and education. Anyone can apply (and pay) to go on one of their research expeditions which prove to be very popular.
At the other end of the day I have just returned from a night time walk up the hill with Bertie as I had received an amber alert for an Aurora and the sky from the garden looked very promising. Sadly, as I climbed the hill, I could see that the horizon was obscured by cloud so, although the sky above was quite bright, there was little Aurora to be seen.
