The Woodland Garden (Saturday 18th March 2023)

Most of the day was spent working through Friday's Coate Water Park pictures and doing jobs around the place and on the computer, but I did do a tour of the Woodland Garden with a camera to see Spring a-cumin on apace there. That plum blossom confetti gets everywhere.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Dionne Warwick - (There's) Always Something There To Remind Me (1967)
I caught up with the recently broadcast Dionne Warwick documentary on this day. I've always admired her ways with a song and was pleased to see her other skills as an activist and negotiator that I knew little of.
The Bacharach and David songs she recorded were much sought in the UK after by the likes of Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield and Sandie Shaw, who had the British hit with her version of the song. However, she recorded it three years before Dionne Warwick's version as the song was originally recorded by Lou Johnson in 1964. The demo for his version had actually been made by Dionne Warwick in 1963, so she had been the first person to sing it.
