Ticking Towards Those Sunday Night Blues
Today's shot represents how my brother feels from about the middle of Sunday afternoon onwards. He always starts to get the blues about returning to work on Monday - it's almost like he can hear the clock ticking towards the end of his weekend freedom. The clock is set at ten to six as this is the time he has to get up each morning to get ready for work which feels especially early on a Monday. In mitigation I have to get up at the same time as I take him to the station each weekday morning - I just miss out the work part!
A recent LinkedIn survey confirmed that up to 80% of the working population experience some kind of Sunday night dread and my brother is most definitely one of them - that niggling sense of unease as you enter the final few hours of your weekend and start worrying about the week ahead.
He was feeling particularly grumpy about it today (but that could just have been because I was making him stand in our back garden with a clock in front of his face!) and he swears he'll wear the t-shirt he has on in this shot to make his true feelings known tomorrow! :-)
