Bus Station nights
Over the past 3 weeks when I’ve been in Lancaster this is where we’ve slept. If you come into Lancaster’s unique road system from the north you cannot miss this building.
It used to be the bus station but that is now more central. The building has a secure car park, lifts and a range of apartments, some let out. It is close to shops and within easy walking distance if the city centre. It has served us very well and was, at night, surprisingly quiet despite the road running round it..
We were on the 3rd floor: the view from the 7th overlooking the castle and the Millenium Bridge was excellent if very windy today - see extra.
The one way system can be a race track - or gridlock. It involves lane changes with traffic merging from various directions. And at one point an extremely counterintuitive move to the right of the road. It just feels wrong.
Still, we survived. We spent the last few hours before returning home with more cuddles and snoozes, passing the wee man over when other needs had to be met.
