And Now For Something Completely Different

Back from Scotland but still on holiday in the Lakes we went to Thornthwaite for a look at the gallery and cafe there and also a walk. We parked at Powter How and whilst walking  into the Thornthwaite we passed a house up on a bank with a whole collection of Beatrix Potter characters carved from wood in the front garden.  This one of Mole was my favourite and makes a change from the Landscape images I have been posting recently.  

The gallery and cafe were superb and well worth a visit but our walk to Whinlatter and then up to Lords Seat and Barf less so.  Recent heavy rain had made some of the paths hazardous (for us anyway) so with regret we eventually abandoned and retraced our steps back along the main forest routes to the car park.
