Dunkirk
A member of the Platform to Platform project team 'commissioned' a sibling, who has just returned from a ski-ing trip in the Alps, to snap this shot for our blipper-sourced online photo album of places mentioned in Lorna Lloyd's Diary of the war (previously blipped in full in the LornaL journal, and now available as a podcast series).
Lorna reports on the evacuation of Dunkirk in her war diary entry of June 3rd 1940. This is covered in Episode 6 of our podcast series.
Admittedly, this is a picture of a sign to Dunkirk, rather than of Dunkirk itself, but we are happy to receive contributions that are representative rather than literal, especially for the last 15 hard-to-source places in our wish list below.
Do you have any pictures either of a place(s) listed below, or something that could represent it (them)? How about your siblings??? If so, please send your contribution(s) (not previously blipped) to h.hall@napier.ac.uk to feature alongside the others that we have been blipping here since 13th July 2022. Thank you!
