On our way

Early start and a long wait at the terminal.
As there were only about 20 cars going on the ferry, Border Force used it as a training exercise and checked every one. All out, bonnets up all doors open and this woman rummaging through glove boxes and door cubby holes.
Didn’t delay us but a truly pointless exercise when you are travelling between two parts of the UK . Even if one of them is self governing. We actually got asked if we had any weapons or firearms with us, so I didn’t mention the Swiss Army Knife in my rucksack.
Arriving in Jersey we had trouble finding our apartment. The landlady didn’t answer her phone, so we asked at a nearby hotel reception and they told us where it was, and we drove the car into the property. We finally got a ring back from her husband after we had found the apartment block to say that his wife had it down that we were booked to arrive tomorrow! Assured him our email was clearly for 20th and he promised to get here as soon as he could. 20 minutes sitting outside waiting for him to arrive and let us in, full of apologies but it didn't fill us with confidence.
Now had a snack and a glass of red and feel a bit better.
