Holesome
Actually Holesquitealot.
Enough of this jollying around in wet mountains and stuff and back to the daily Forth Bridge life that is fixing all the holes in the house.
The project is the Far Basement - a location that hasn't had any real attention - probably for several decades - except for contractors to punch holes in the ceiling for pipes, gas, wires, etc.
Also, as is the norm for here, the pipes are largely held up by Happy Thoughts and the occasional tie-wrap. The plaster & lath ceiling is mostly held up by friction and optimism.
Thus, this room has eventually floated to the top of the Fix-it list.
First main job is to overboard the ceiling to hold everything up and cover the holes - and to do so in fireproof boarding as we've done with the rest of the basement (in that case, at the behest of the fire service). This isn't under a fire exit route so it wasn't mandatory, but we don't just do fireproofing for regulatory compliance!
There may (OK, will) be more basement blips.
