Return From Oz
Today I met G's Granddad for the first time. We've been going out for over five years, so it's been a long while coming! He emigrated to Australia just before G and I got together and has recently returned for good. It was quite a trip for him, so he's been recovering at G's parents in Leigh; enjoying home cooked food, but feeling very cold. It was great to meet him finally; he's quite a character and I've heard lots of family folklore over the years. It was a really sunny day, so it was lovely to sit in he garden, and look through photo albums of where he used to live. He has left his partner behind, who will hopefully join him in October, so I think he enjoyed looking at photos of her. I find it quite baffling that people my age still have Grandparents. Sadly, all of mine died within a year of each other when I was 14, so I feel quite jealous of others knowing theirs as adults.
I bought these birds at the Open Gardens yesterday, one is for Mum. The lady we bought them off said they were easy to make, but when she showed us how to do it with felting tools, it definitely didn't look easy!
