Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Nay! or Neigh!

Today we took ourselves off to Newhailes House where there was a market on. My aim was to say hallo to Blipper Nadinepierce of Pentland Aromatics. It was a small oudoor market. Apart from a couple of brief showers the weather was good and it was warm.
We had lunch in the cafe which is where I took my blip. They use the old stables and have tables inside and out. Food is prepared freshly to order, so my sandwich was delicious with soft light bread. I'm not a fan of Sourdough as I find it tio chewy so was delighted with it.
I bought a hot cross bun from twelve triangles on the way back, I couldn't believe it cost £3.10, that did seem excessive. I wish places would put proper dough crosses on the buns too. These were dough crossed, but very fine and diagonal across the whole bun rather than an upright cross in the middle.
From Newhailes we headed back across town as we had to pick Isobel up from a party. I'm not sure what was going on in town but buses seemed to be being retired to avoid the Dean Bridge. We met some Queensferry Road buses into town on Palmerston Place, some Queensferry Road buses heading out of town in Stockbridge and some Glasgow Road buses on Ravelston Dykes heading out of town, but they may have been avoiding the rugby. Talking of which, good result, well done Scotland, and well done Ireland too.
We picked up Isobel without incident but were very glad we'd given ourselves extra time as there were traffic queues every where.
she's been at a trampoline party at Gravity, Fountain Park which I didn't even know existed!
Sunday tomorrow, looking forward to being in church.
