Reverse

Over in the small island of Wyre, population 10, to install the display panels in their lovely new heritage centre and community room. All went well and everyone happy.

Only drama was the multiple reversing onto the ferry. Depending on the time of day the ferry visits 3 islands, Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre. And today I was on all 3 because of where they needed my car to be positioned amongst tractors and mobile library van and sheep trailers so that I would be at the front by the time we got to Wyre.

This of course meant getting on and off the boat and each time and each time the reversing got more and more complicated, the worst being when I had to squash into a very tight corner in order for the aforementioned tractor to squeeze past. It involves basically doing exactly what you are told and trusting the crew totally. At one point there were 4 members of the crew directing me as I had to creep into the space. The whole thing felt like a very weird driving test. Was very glad to get to the end of the journey.
