Carpet cleaning

So, as we’ve almost finished ‘The Big Clear Out’, we are now onto ‘The Big Clean’. We tackled the living room today - easier than usual because the books are better organised. We did have to sort through a big collection of DVDs though - mostly gone!

A long while ago Gordon took on the responsibility for floors in our house - he uses a traditional mop and bucket for the bathrooms and kitchen, he has a posh vacuum for the rest of the floors (I don’t think I’ve ever used it) and he likes his little handheld vacuum . . . but best of all he loves his carpet cleaning machine. It’s not used very often, but what a great job it does.

Every kind of weather today - rain and wind this morning, then a couple of hours of sunshine, which was good for drying the carpet. Then the sky darkened and we had a hailstorm, which turned to sleet and finally it began to snow and within a few minutes we had several inches of lying snow - still there now. Amazing!
