Seal mysteries

I didn’t know Davistown had seals. But according to a local newsletter, this seal has been spotted sunbaking on local boats. Really? Can a seal climb onto a boat?
 
The newsletter says we have a local bachelors’ seal colony at Barrenjoey. Do seals have male only colonies? Why?
 
Much to be investigated. The thing I really like about this story, though, is that the boat on which the seal is napping is the backup ferry that took us to Woy Woy.
