Puppy training Prep
Wet day but fun had.
Spent Leo-time with family,
then Puppy Training.
Ben was up early but things were fairly calm. Then I dropped him at school, took Leo for a wet walk and headed off to see my mum at her house. It was nice to see Leo sniff his way around and feel comfortable. We had another wet walk and then home to hers for lunch. I fetched Ben and he seems to have had a good day. When we got home Leo crashed out for a couple of hours! He doesn't rest very well away from home so he was shattered. He woke for some tea and then it was time for puppy training. I've been really excited to find out how it all works but I felt a bit flat afterwards, they separated the pups with room dividers and half of the time I couldn't see what the trainer was showing us to do. Obviously it was very treat based, so Leo ate so much and then started getting really snappy and overdone. Thinking about it I'm wondering if he was thirsty, I hadn't taken water as I'd expected there to be some available but I'll definitely take our own next week. He has scratched and nipped me quite badly which I just don't feel he would have done if I was controlling the situation at home. I need to have a think about how to be more in control next week. Also it was tipping with rain so we got completely drenched on the way home, I can't really blame the puppy class for that!! But I'm still wet through and so is the floor as Leo just raced in without me being able to dry him first. Sigh. They were encouraging about trying the recall as soon as possible though, they suggest tennis courts or badminton courts that have enclosures if I feel nervous to start with, so that seems like a good idea. Right, off to sort out stuff.
