Hawes End Jetty

A damp morning turned really wet this afternoon.  We set out after lunch in the dry to walk to Hawes End on the west side of Derwentwater. We needed a walk having been in most of the morning.

The rain, promised in the morning arrived shortly after we departed on our walk. But with the old maxim of "no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes" ringing in our ears, we pressed on to our destination. A few shots later and we headed back to see our friends in Portinscale. 

Despite the rain a very pleasant afternoon.
