This morning on our first day exploring Saigon we decided to walk to the War Remnants Museum with its many exhibits as well as a multitude of photographs.
The display of photographs , mainly in black and white, was so different from the beautiful exhibition we had seen in Hoi An. It was a record of the work of war photographers from several countries and a large number of them were actually killed during the conflict. Mrs AMK had a struggle and left some of the rooms - so sad to think it all happened in our life time and yet such horrors are still happening elsewhere today.
We spent some time there and then walked a bit further and had a look at the magnificent old post office and passed the Notre Dame cathedral that a the moment is covered in scaffolding.
After a coffee stop we returned to the hotel safely negotiating a few busy roads. The 3rd extra shows a fairly typical road scene - the tall building in the centre is our hotel. We are on the 9th floor but for our evening meal we went to the restaurant on the 23rd floor and one of the waiters took our photo ( 1st extra) it doesn’t do justice to the view out of the window.
