Rooftops and seagulls
Beaminster, Dorset
After a birthday breakfast for Dad, and after packing and cleaning the cottage, we went out for a reminiscing walk around the village, passing where Mum went to school, and where she used to live, below the church (the triangular roof in the centre of 1st extra, church in 2nd ).
Another grey, dreary day but at least it stayed dry, well, until just after we’d started to head home. To break the journey, we stopped off at Lytes Cary Manor in Somerset for a bite to eat, and a quick look at the medieval manor house (extras 3-5).
The journey back was fine and we arrived home at 3.30pm, in the rain, where Dad fell asleep in front of the rugby, my brother cooked a second birthday feast, and I did all the unpacking!
Lots of extras again but who knows when I’ll next have the chance to get away. The last extra shows the birthday boy blowing out his breakfast birthday candle, on his 94th birthday!
Thank you for all your kind stars and hearts for yesterday’s blips of a very wet hour in West Bay, will get back to commenting properly when life returns to normal.
