Old Walnut Tree

This trunk belongs to one of two walnut trees I saw on my walk in the vineyards today. Their trunks are partly hollow, there are bird’s nests in some of the openings, and plants growing in others. The old trees are turning into their own little ecosystems. More of them, plus a sloe blossom photo, in the extra collage.

The weather continues to seesaw from Winter to Spring and back. After frost and snow overnight, the temperature rose to 8°C today, and we expect up to 17°C tomorrow (with rain and possibly thunderstorms), but it won’t stay warm for long. If the forecast is correct, we’ll have frost and snow again on Wednesday.
