To the manor born

Ben my old friend and colleague and his new husband German (Puerto Rican so sounds like “Herman” came to stay and after a soup lunch we whizzed over to Petworth (good for visiting Americans) and as they’d opened up all the rooms with the start of the season i finally understood the layout.  We came home for tea and I cooked a chicken in the port with orzo recipe that came through from Nigella’s email.  Very delicious 

Lovely having them here, B and I worked together for many years and he’s just come back from LA where he’s been doing an illustrious job.   We gossiped of course and put telly to rights.  Much of the evening was spent on the ongoing BBC catastrophe as that was our home for so long.  Backed into a corner, pressured by proxies, they seem incredibly out of touch with how social media works.  

Leo is two months old today.
