The Sleepover
My dear granddaughter Odette spent the night last night...the first time in almost a year. Long story there, but suffice it to say we had a grand time! Games, stories, cats, dinner carefully assembled by Odette, and a soft cozy bed. She let me sleep until 7 am, although I really didn't sleep well....that one ear always listening habit doesn't ever seem to go away, no matter what kid it is ;-)
It was, finally, a really pleasant early spring day. Lots of sun, a hint of warmth (if you can call 52F warm)...and we ate our lunch out in the courtyard on my new patio table. And a rehab of the Fairy Garden was the order of the morning. I put the original fairy garden together with Odette probably 5 or 6 years ago now. It's in a large, round and shallow terra cotta colored planter. It's been through many iterations, and each spring we faithfully refresh it, wash all the various figures and so forth. This year she chose this gorgeous ranunculus to feature in the garden. What a stunning way to spend a spring morning!
