King Solomon

Visited the Chester Beatty library in this afternoon to see an exhibition of biblical papyrus from Roman Egypt. Alfred Chester Beatty (1875-1968) was a collector of rare manuscripts and books, mostly from the middle east, which are now exhibited in the Chester Beatty library, beside Dublin Castle.

This blip is a shot of a page from a 17th century folio from Agra in India, near the Taj Mahal, which is displayed in the library.  It depicts King Solomon, who was very wise,  talking to animals and birds.
