Plaza Mayor, Madrid

I checked the Aptis marking platform this morning and there were very few items to mark. What a pity ;-) I then wrestled with syncing my kindle device with the app on my new phone. For some reason, it wasn’t syncing to my last page read. Eventually got it fixed somehow and then walked out for coffee and churros at an old traditional place round the corner. Nice coffee, but disappointing churros, given it’s their specialty.

Later in the morning, I wandered around Plaza Oriente and then headed over to the little streets round Plaza Mayor, where I got my blips. A couple of extras in there too. A glass of wine (afternoon by now!) and then I came over all madrileña and ordered a bocadillo de calamares, another of Madrid’s specialties. When in Rome and all that….but I think I’d need to try them in the more famous places to grow to love them. Perhaps it would have been nicer with pan con tomato, but pan con tomato is definitely a Catalan thing, so didn’t go there!
