Waiting for Love is Exhauting!

Left hotel 9am, arrived Rumbak 11am where we are camping for 4 nights. Blue sheep spotted before huge lunch.

In the late afternoon 2 snow leopards were heard calling, in ghostly voices, from each side of Rumbak Valley. Both were spotted by the guides and a crowd of perhaps 40 photographers descended the valley to try to see them too. You can  see how perfectly camouflaged they are in the rocks. They were far away initially but this one came to about 500m from us. We could only see him if he moved, with the naked eye. Fortunately I checked my photos all taken with the doubler, and to my horror, so many of the photos were not clear. However, the last set of photos of a beautiful, and huge, snow leopard calling for her mate, was much better taken with just the 500mm lens. Several in extras as well as the main photo. We are absolutely thrillled to have seen this leopard on our first day here.
