Snow day
Snow fell for much of the day, but as the temperature hovered just above freezing, it was mostly soft and wet, occasionally turning to sleet and with a short spell of freezing rain, which created a soothing, tinkling sound - a classic asmr trigger.
I usually love to walk in the snow, but today I gave it a miss and contented myself with watching birds (and a cheeky Grey Squirrel) visiting the feeders. Most of the smaller birds sheltered from the snowfall, but it didn't deter the Goldfinches at all. The snow finally stopped in the late-afternoon, and there was a sudden flurry of Greenfinches, Blue Tits and Great Tits, clearly making up for lost feeding time before nightfall.
