white hellebore

I have the one hellebore that is going off like gangbusters with blossoms all over the place. Two other hellebores have one white flower each. We will see what happens to the others. If they don't make it I will replace them with the new-fangled hellebores that raise their blooms upward. 

One of my employees needs a software program. I said yes. You won't believe this, but somehow that was all it took - my email saying yes. Somehow, magically, no one has to fill out a dozen forms. How can anything in government be that easy?

Karen has begun eating eggs, but she doesn't eat the yolks. Today we gave yolks to the crows. It was so much fun to see the crow pace, considering whether to go to the table and check out what was in the bowl. It was so cool to see him/her do it. Then we watched the other crow steal the yolk, take it to the bird bath, and eat it slowly. The first crow was OUTRAGED but went to get the other two yolks. 

I think my work friend and I figured out the one thing that the right and the left still agree on:  Dolly Parton is a wonderful person. 

You remember that Russia recruited prisoners for the military? 11 inmates are on the run in Donetsk. 70 are being held in a basement after a conflict with their commanders went bad. The inmates refused to storm Ukrainian positions. 

UK intel says that Russia's "elite tank unit" is fighting with Soviet tanks from 60 years ago. 

There is footage showing that Russians are welding parts together to make crude tanks. This includes taking naval turrets and welding them onto old armored vehicles. This is because their tank situation is so dire. 

The Economist pointed out that there has been a shift in strategy regarding Ukraine. We realized Russia was weaker than we thought and that if we want the war to end sooner we need to supply more weapons. "Of all the military aid pledged by the Pentagon since the war began, 40% - over $8bn - has come in the three months since December 9th."
