Rome Day 1

Early coffee in our room at 02:30 and walk over to the airport at  03:00. We arrive in Rome ahead of schedule and drop our bags at the hotel and head out to explore. A browse in some shops en route to The Spanish Steps. More walking and we see the coliseum in the distance. Check out Trojan’s market and column. We have focaccia sandwiches for lunch and later stop for an Aperol spritz on our way back to the hotel when we are spotted by our concierge, Mario.
After a rest we head out for dinner with a stop at the Trevi Fountain first. Sample my first tiramisu of the trip and award it 4 out of 5.
