First Landing State Park
This park is at the site of the first landing of the Jamestown colonists in 1607. Blackbeard reportedly spent time in the area. This is the northernmost areas where you can find Spanish moss in the U.S.
After a 2.5 hour drive to Richmond yesterday afternoon (traffic...) it began pouring rain. The girls were on the field warming up (drenched, I might add) when the field was declared unusable. The ball would not move due to the amount of rain that had fallen. An attempt was made to move the game a few fields over to a turf field. However ultimately it was considered unsafe for the girls to play. So we made the drive back home (2 hours...no traffic).
Hoping to make the 3rd trip to Richmond in 4 days tomorrow as the game has been rescheduled for Monday afternoon. I will need to rearrange my schedule but am really hoping to be able to make it. The weather is looking iffy for tomorrow as well...but hoping the game can be played!
