Green monsters

I'm glad these chaps are quite little as a 2 metre tall one might be a problem especially while it is pulling your head off! LOL
There are no native Preying Mantis ( Orthodera novaezealandiae, known as the New Zealand mantis or the New Zealand praying mantis) the UK although some can be found in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly so now living in NZ I'm quite fascinated by them and my wife calls them "Your friends" as I like them and she does not.

Friends who were friends who lived around the corner to us in the UK came for lunch today, it was good to catch up and we are planning to meet up in the UK in August.

A wet day today and with the South Island having its fifth driest summer it is needed.
