The weekend is upon us again.

Grand Prix season has started - hurrah!

"Get to the point" I hear you cry. Very well. Mrs FP is going to enter the Scotch Egg category in the Women's Institute show on the 29th of April. How exciting. A few practice runs required as she (nor I) have ever made one before. I deemed it superbly tasty once I howked the egg out and gave it to the dog (I cannot abide eggs). The sausage was lovely with a pleasing crunch to the  crust. The rosemary and thyme seasoning was spot on.

Yet a success was not declared, The ratio of egg to meat was not aesthetically pleasing, smaller eggs required, more sausage. Also the meat was not of a uniform thickness. The egg has also come away from the meat which after a little research on the web can be avoided if you coat the egg with a little flour.

I look forward to future attempts. Who knew a Scotch Egg could be so complex.
