Busy airspace

It was such a beautiful day, I just could not stay indoors so I abandoned all the inside jobs and headed up to our fruit cage which is situated on a flat area of land above our house. I had done most of the pruning a few days ago and now needed to do a bit of weeding and lay layers of cardboard to prevent more weeds coming through. Bertie was in his element as he loves to be outdoors. We had been out for about an hour when our eyes were drawn skywards by a distinctive bird call…..a white tailed eagle. But there wasn’t just one, there were in fact four wheeling around above us, and a couple of buzzards not happy about their presence. They stayed for several minutes, giving me enough time to grab my camera and try to find them in the view finder, against the bright blue sky. I eventually succeeded in getting one shot that I thought was just about worth sharing. The rest only look like tiny dots!
We think that two of the eagles are nest building not far away from us and that is a bit of a concern for me regarding Bertie. He is small enough to be lifted by and eagle so I will be keeping a close eye on him when he is out in the garden during the spring and summer months.
