Another Birthday (96)
We took a trip to Blackford to lay some bright daffodils at Dad’s grave. It was two degrees colder in Blackford than it was in Perth 17 miles away! But I knew that it would be.
We walked round the back road and along the Red Brae over the railway bridge, down the walk as the side of the Danny Burn then back to the car.
We stopped off for a cuppa in Kisa in Auchterarder. First time we had been to the new Cafe (in the old Bank building). Had a warmed millionaire’s slice and S had carrot cake. It was good. Had a chat to the waitress about the new set up and was really impressed with the layout. She said they hadn’t had to change anything structurally inside, using former offices for two separate rooms at the front.
Home to the warmth. We watched almost to the end of 1883, almost. We’ve 40 mins left of the last episode and it’s sad. I must say the young Elsa played by Isabel May is fabulous, and also Sam Elliot. I’ve so enjoyed this and hope 1923 is as good.
