Meols Magic

It’s the second day of the Great Garden Massacre - now the turn of the back garden. I’m surprised by Solveig’s response; she seems to be coping with the trauma quite well and has adopted the ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ approach.

By the afternoon, I’ve managed to drag myself down to the beach again - and this time with my camera. The tide is coming in, and soon there’s just a narrow strip of muddy sand left by the sea wall.  Here redshanks feed, and further out along the sandbanks there are many other waders - predominantly oyster catchers and (I think) dunlins.

Suddenly, there is a fluttering movement from far out in the sandbanks, and just like that, the air is full of whirling waders - not quite a Snettisham Spectacular, but at least a little bit if Meols Magic. It’s just a pity I don’t have my camera on the right setting ……

I’m really not sure which one to go with as my main - I like the layers in one, but the reflections in the other. In the end, I’ve gone the layers, leaving the oyster catchers as an extra.

Edit: as everyone who’s expressed a preference has gone for the extra, and as I was torn between the two anyway, I’m bowing to popular opinion and swapping them round!
