Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

I picked up Pip when I was ready - I MUCH prefer this routine, rather than him arriving at 8am when I’m still in bed, mainly because he immediately barks at the kitchen door because he wants out into the back garden to poke around.

JR came back with her pal Kim - she’d come to pick up the e-bike. Kim is an experienced biker, but has never had an e-bike before, so when she tried it, she was immediately sold! We were sad to see it go, but it’ll have a much happier life than being locked up in our shed, going nowhere…

Denise came to take Archie a big walk, that’s why he’s not there supervising the negotiations, leaving that job to Pip.

In the afternoon I took the boys out for a walk while JR went into town (returning something). And who should we meet in the corner but Tosca and her mum! Archie and Tosca were delighted to meet up, but Pip does NOT like her - she keeps coming into HIS back garden as she lives next door, and the small wall between the two gardens is no deterrent.

When we came back I spent a long time on the phone, dealing with my broadband supplier - they’d informed me that the cost of my Tv/broadband package was going up,  rather a lot, but that I could get out of my contract with no penalty if I wasn’t happy. This was a good chance to get out of contract, so I looked around at a few other deals. TOOOO complicated. Anyway, I rang VM saying I was leaving them, and the price came down a bit. Quite a bit. Happy with that for the moment, as it’s such a fag changing.

But really, I had a headache by the end of it. Sorry, but they seem to have people who are Very Hard to Understand, and there’s always a huge racket going on around them wherever they are. However, we got through it. Just as well I had a pastry to munch afterwards. JR had brought me it yesterday, but I hadn’t eaten it. It was a bit hard, but a little warm up in the microwave and it was like new.

A VERY exciting day tomorrow. I have an appointment with a man I’ve been desperate to meet for several years!
