Egelze
Eygelshoven also in dialect called Egelze is a village within the city Kerkrade. The weekly market on Saturday, directly opposite the church is always cozy and crowded.
Information about the church:
Small, three-aisled Gothic hall church with narrow ijschepen and trilateral closed choir and a low, rigid tower at the western entrance, of which only the octagonal spire constricted above the roof of the ship rises. The Romanesque tower dates from the 11th century and was built as a tower resilience.
The church towers over the center (market) of Egelze out. On the mound are some typical houses, including a half-timbered house built offen in the Limburg landscape.
