Osprey

It won't be too many weeks now until the ospreys return to Cumbria from West Africa where they have been spending the Winter.

Their nest at Bassenthwaite has a camera right by it...the live videos can be seen at Whinlatter Visitor Centre.

We walked steeply up to Whinlatter Visitor Centre from Thornthwaite this morning. ( takes about an hour )

It was freezing cold, and we had a snow shower at one stage! Fortunately the cafe was open!
