A hive of activity

This unimpressive building houses our quilting group meetings. It’s a council building which is very utilitarian, but meets our needs. The shops across the road are a source of super veg and a great bakers.

We had about 30 members present today, doing a session focused on producing items for the Chaplaincy at the hospital. Hearts and comfort bags are the items requested at present. I supplied the stuffing having bought a large bag more than 10 years ago, which appears to be bottomless. It must have been very compressed when it was packed.

Everyone seemed to be very chirpy and cheery today, not sure why, possibly due to the abundant supply of home made cake.

Our Chairperson had made a block for a quilt being made in celebration of the forthcoming coronation by an organisation in Lincoln. We thought that it would be a bigger contribution but when the details and materials arrived it turned out to be 6 by 6 inches,  titchy. Also embroidered or appliqué. No patchwork involved. This is why she has done it on behalf of all the ladies. It’s an amazing piece of work.
