Grooming day!

Very poor night's sleep,
tired parents today, Ben seems
weirdly OK though!

Ben woke up at 2:30am.  That was not a good start.  Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I have been sleepwalking through the day.  Amazingly Ben seems mostly OK, he was a bit snappy this afternoon and tired on our longer walk but other than that, you wouldn't know how long he's been awake..
Leo had his first grooming session! It's very silly! It was a mobile groomers so the lady came to the house and scooped him up and into her van and did all the bath and clipping/drying/whatever else.. right there, parked on the road.    If I understand it correctly the poodle pups don't get a proper trim until their grown up fur has come in a bit more, so this was more to get him used to it and to tidy him up!  He looked so different though!  All puffed up! And she's shaved in between his eyes so he looks like a little bandit!  I think both Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I are both looking forward to the curly poodle phase more than this puffy bit but bless him, he's cute either way!
We made it out to the woods on Mr KCNQ2Haiku's lunch break so that gave us chance to muddy Leo up a bit!  He met a few dogs and sniffed a few sniffs.
We played some board games and made some pesto and some pancake batter.  Then Ben and I took Leo for a little walk around the block.  It made me laugh because Leo was ahead and Ben was behind and I saw Leo pick up some long dead piece of kind of ornamental grass, it was significantly bigger than him but he trotted on... then I turned around and realised Ben had done the exact same thing!  It's funny when they're similar, a bit like when Ben chews socks :-/ Maybe it's not always funny!
Anyway, the pancakes were mostly a success, Ben predominantly went for chocolate sauce on his and it's nearly bedtime so Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I can collapse!  He has to sleep tonight, right??
