Haven

After all yesterday’s shenanigans, it was a treat to have a long lie this morning.
We were supposed to leave for Alnwick at about 10am but left almost 2 hours later.
Arrived in time for lunch in the Pig in Muck (very good) and then after a wander round the shops (freezing wind) we spent the rest of the afternoon reading books (by the fire) and browsing the shelves at Barter Books. Off to our Vicarage next (we went to the wrong one initially!) where we’re going to be house and dog sitting for the next week. We got to know Nathanael and Poppy the very cute miniature Schnauzer (pics to follow) and watched the BAFTAs together. It was all very welcoming and Nathaneal had prepared us a delicious meal.
