Work in Progress

Victoria visited this morning while her husband was at cricket training. She helped my husband to put the feet on a new incinerator; it is a two-person job. Then when my new shoe rack arrived, for the conservatory, she volunteered to put it together. Her husband picked her up at lunch time and he opened a jar of pickled onions; none of us had hand strong enough to remove the lid. 
 
Today’s picture is of the half-removed pergola from the western side; the rest of it will be removed on Friday when the gardeners visit again. This is being removed completely, before it falls down; all that will remain will be the concrete base. We are hoping the walls around the edges remain intact! The extra is a before picture taken earlier.
 
The temperature at noon today was once again thirteen degrees Celsius.
