Rio Celeste

It was lashing it down this morning and after a risk assessment it was decided to proceed with the walk to the Celeste Rio waterfall. It was as turquoise as it looks even without any sunlight. It is within the Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio  where we were yesterday. We had to abandon two related trails on account of the heavy rain.
The lodge provides full board - it’s fairly isolated so we returned for a late lunch - local vegetables, fried fish and roast pineapple with homemade creamy ice cream draped in Costa Rican tempered chocolate, a stand out meal.
